Stagg 1/2 size Acoustic Guitar

 A beautiful small bodied acoustic.

This is a 1/2 size acoustic guitar, and is suitable for youngsters from around the age of 7 upwards.  The metal strings give a bright sound, which is great for chords, and the tone is clear enough for finger-picking too.  The woods have been chosen to make this look good, helped by a high gloss finish, but also to be stable and robust.

This is a great guitar for a younger player.  It sounds good, plays well and great to look at too!

Technical information:
The body is made from Basswood laminate, and the neck is Nato.  The fingerboard and bridge are black stained Maple. The width of the neck at the nut is 1.6" (41mm), the scale 19" (483mm) and the body length, without neck, is 15.5" (400mm).
The standard full size dreadnought measurements are:  1.7" (43mm), 25" (635mm) and 19.6" (500mm).

Buying advice.
This is the real thing in a small body - but do you need it this small?  Small bodies have a slightly choked sound, so go for the 3/4 size if you think they can reach - remember, children grow!
This is built exactly like an expensive guitar, has proper enclosed machines (tuners), correctly proportioned frets, decent wood and a neck truss rod.  Why is all this important?  Because there are a lot of cheap guitars out there that have none of these things, and without them it wont work!  Run this buy a teacher and they will tell you exactly the same thing.
Most youngsters start on a nylon strung classical guitar, as the strings are softer, but the sound is just not right for most people. If you want to start on a steel strung metal guitar, then this is probably the best value available in a small size.
